Born in tropical North Queensland, Nic moved to Adelaide when he was 10 years old. At the early age of 16, Nic quickly realised school was not for him leaving it to become a stone mason fabricating and installing stone for companies located in the Western suburbs.
After 8 years Nic and his wife Krystal moved to Mount Barker deciding this was where they wanted to settle down.
Nic met his business partner Ezra while working for a local joiner where he got his qualification as a cabinet maker. This is where Nic found his love for timber. Finding a space in Callington both Nic and Ezra started STADC Surfaces with the aim of providing timber elements to local cabinet makers and builders in the Adelaide Hills and surrounding areas.
Nic is a fun-loving person who takes great pride in his work and family. Nic has a passion for timber and his attention to detail is second to none which ensures his clients receive the best service and products every time. Nic currently lives in the Adelaide Hills with his wife Krystal, two beautiful kids and two crazy dogs.
Ezra has always been interested in woodwork, even from a young age he would be making various timber items with his siblings. Ezra grew up on a farm in the mallee and began his apprenticeship in Cabinet Making through his final year of school. He then continued this with a company in the Eastern Suburbs of Adelaide working on high-end kitchens.
Once he completed his apprenticeship, he moved to the Adelaide hills to work for a local joiner, where he spent 6 years working as a production manager and training staff. After being an employee for ten years Ezra was ready to take the next step, he saw a gap in the market for high-quality joinery and bench tops, teamed up with Nic and the rest is history.
Ezra is a self-motivated person who believes in working as a team and creating a happy workplace and lifestyle. He lives on a farm near Monarto with his wife Michelle and little man Archie.
